Lauren Fontenot is the owner of Studio L Dance Company. She began dancing at age four at Rosie's Dance Center in her hometown of Welsh, LA and has been dancing ever since.

She minored in dance at LSU and has worked with instructors such as Sheryl Murakami, Yanis Marshall, Shirlene Quigley, Ian Eastwood, and Laurie Johnson at numerous conventions and Broadway Dance Center in New York. She has also had the privilege of training with the Radio City Rockettes.

Lauren began teaching dance at age 19 at Jete Dance Company and Rosie's Dance Center. After spending some time dancing in New York, Lauren felt compelled to open an all-adult dance studio that would provide a place for adults to continue dancing past childhood, as well as to introduce adults who have never danced to a fun and effective way to get in shape. Thus, No Supervision Dance Studio was born! Lauren is so proud of the friendships formed and memories made among students and is excited to continue adult classes at Studio L Dance Co.

In addition to studio classes, Lauren also choreographs for ACTS Theatre in Lake Charles, where she currently holds two ACTA awards for choreography. Her next choreography project at ACTS is "Chicago" which she will also be dancing in in September, along with several of her adult students! In 2023, as a first-time coach for Mad Hot Ballroom---a major local competition and fundraiser for The Whistle Stop---she coached her celebrity partner to a first place win. She will be coaching another local celebrity in this year's competition!

Lauren is thrilled to teach kids again and introduce dance to the new generation. Dance doesn't only teach rhythm and physical fitness; it teaches discipline, work ethic, social skills, teamwork, body awareness, spatial awareness, and more. Lauren believes that dance helps to raise children into successful adults, and she is grateful to be able to provide dance to all ages.
